Scott Oxenreider Obituary

Scott A. Oxenreider, 62, of Birdsboro, passed away Monday, March 16, 2026, in Reading Hospital & Medical Center.  Born in Reading, he was the only child of Barbara Anne (Spengler) Rowlands, and the late Richard A. Oxenreider.  He was married for 10 incredible years to Pamela E. (Miller) Oxenreider.

A 1981 graduate of Muhlenberg High School, Scott studied at Berks Technical Institute and received an associate’s degree from Columbia Southern University.  He was a business solutions IT specialist for Veritiv Corporation, Exton, last working this past Friday.

Scott lived a full and active life, marked by dedication, passion, and service to others. He was an accomplished disc jockey and a respected volunteer firefighter, serving with the Temple, Blandon, and Exeter stations. A devoted sports fan, he enjoyed watching NASCAR—especially cheering for Dale Earnhardt in his prime—as well as rooting for the Phillies and, much to his wife’s dismay, the Philadelphia Eagles.

In his free time, Scott found joy in model race cars, camping, watching WWII programs on the History Channel, and “Moonshiners” and “Gold Rush” on Discovery. He also appreciated relaxing with a fine cigar from Cigars International. He was an avid bowler and coach, sharing his enthusiasm for the sport with many.

Above all, Scott cherished his family. Time spent with Pam, their children, and his grandchildren brought him his greatest happiness.

Nothing was more important to Scott than his family, and he truly enjoyed time spent with Pam, their five children and 14 grandchildren.  In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his daughters: Amy L. Scott (Matthew), of Blandon, and Elaine E. Gabel (Brian), of Wernersville, and sons: Eric M. Oxenreider (Katelyn), of Oley, Jeremy A. Hertzog (significant other Shannon Gilbert), of Blandon, and Robert W. Hertzog, of Exeter.  He was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey Hertzog, Jr.

Viewings will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 6:00-8:00PM, and Friday, March 20, 2026, from 10:00-11:00AM, both at Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 1 East Lancaster Avenue, Shillington, PA.  Funeral Services at the funeral home Friday at 11:00AM, with Rev.
