Sherry J. Chambers

Sherry Jean (Laumeister) Chambers, 78, of Wyomissing, passed away July 9, 2018. She was the loving wife to Robert Chambers with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. Born in West Reading, she was a daughter of the late Carl A. and Gertrude (Hill) Laumeister. Sherry was a 1957 graduate of Wilson High School and a graduate of Reading Business Institute. She worked as a medical secretary working 31 years at Shillington Internal Medicine Associates, retiring in 2008. Sherry previously worked in Lancaster for William K. Wheatly, M.D. She was a life member of West Lawn United Methodist Church. She belonged to the Wheatland Junior Woman's Club, Lancaster serving as its president for two years; later joining the West Lawn Junior Women's Club. Sherry was a 50+ year member of Conrad Weiser Chapter #419, Order of the Eastern Star, a member of Reading Scottish Rite Ladies Auxiliary, serving as their Recording Secretary. She volunteered at the Wilson area food pantry and for Friends of the Reading Hospital. Sherry enjoyed traveling to many of the United States, Canada, Greece and the Caribbean Islands, especially Aruba. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son - Scott Robert husband of Jean (Rogosky) Chambers of Wilshire, her daughter - Allison Jean wife of Michael Gutierrez of Robesonia, her two granddaughters - Charlotte Jean and Meredith Kelly Chambers, her great granddaughter - Blake Ashley Hannum, her sister - Beverly A. Snyder, widow of Clark D. Snyder, her two brothers - Dexter Carl widower of Mary Lou (Wagner) Laumeister and Donald George husband of Linda (Boyer) Laumeister. She was the loving aunt to several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call on Friday, July 13, 2018 from 9:30-10:55 AM at Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Ave., Shillington. Eastern Star service by Conrad Weiser Chapter #419, O.E.S. at 11:00 AM followed by her Celebration of Life service officiated by Pastor Andrea Haldeman.
