Remembering Steve Roger Rea, Sr.
Steve Roger Rea, Sr., a lifelong resident of Reading, Pennsylvania, died of natural causes in his home on April 18, 2024, at the age of 66. He was born on August 14, 1957, to the late Roger Lee and Catherine Marie (Stoyer) Rea.
After graduating from Twin Valley High School, Steve embarked on a career as a machinist at Dana Corporation's Parish division. He honed his skills in building large tools for automobile and truck frames, eventually rising to a supervisory role within the same field. Seeking a new challenge, Steve transitioned to the life of an over-the-road truck driver, delivering various commodities across the United States until his retirement in 2022.
Outside of work, Steve found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, relishing the freedom of the open road and the camaraderie of fellow riders. Steve also cherished spending time with friends, creating lasting memories.
Steve is survived by his son, Steve Roger Rea, Jr.; two grandsons, Brixton Flynn Rea and Greyson Oaks Rea; and his sister, Marcy Ann (Rea) Koppenheffer, wife of Jeffrey A. Koppenheffer. He was predeceased by his brother, Mark Allen Rea.
