Susan L. Woessner, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on September 10, 2024, at the age of 77.
Born on October 16, 1946, in Reading, PA, to Everett J. and Margaret L. Keffer, Susie grew up in Lincoln Park with her brothers Marty Buck, Brent, and Kent Keffer. She attended Governor Mifflin High School, graduating in 1964. It was there she met her future husband, Ronald J. Woessner, with whom she shared 56 years of marriage before his passing in February 2021. Together, they raised four children: Sherry A. (wife of Kevin E. Epler, Wernersville), Lori S. Gray (Indiana), Tracy L. Woessner (Las Vegas, NV), and Troy J. (husband of Lisa Woessner, Sinking Spring).
Before her grandchildren were born, Susie worked briefly at Linette’s Candies and as a lunch aide at Conrad Weiser West Elementary School. In 1991, with the arrival of her first grandchild, Susie shifted her focus and dedicated much of her time to helping raise her grandchildren. She became an important and steady presence in their lives, offering support and care in their day-to-day moments. Those years spent with her grandchildren were some of the most rewarding for Susie, as she took great pride in being a part of their upbringing.
Susie found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren: Dylan and Taylor Epler, Hannah and Sarah Snyder, and Joshua Woessner. Summers spent at her pool, vacations to Long Beach Island, and Atlantic City were favorite traditions, as were being able to enjoy performances by Celine Dion. She was also an enthusiastic participant in the Conrad Weiser 76ers Community Theater in her younger years.
A dedicated member of Lincoln Park United Methodist Church for many years, Susie valued her faith and the community it provided. Her devotion to her family and friends and her commitment to her faith were central parts of her life
Susan will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by those whose lives she touched.
