Thomas E. Rider

Thomas E. Rider, 70, of Reading, passed away May 3, 2018 at 6:39 AM in the emergency room of Penn State Health - St. Joseph. He was the husband of Diane M. (Ebling) Rider. They celebrated 11 years of marriage. Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Raymond T. and Mary E. (Lange) Rider. Tom was a mechanic for 35 years for the Reading School District, retiring in 2003. He later was the bus driver at Sencit Towns House Apartments for 15 years and retired from there in January 2018. Tom was raised catholic and graduated from Central Catholic High School. He raced cars at the Reading Fairgrounds driving the Ontelaunee Orchards car # \"00\" and loved working on cars, especially his \"Shelby\". He enjoyed the beach, casinos, time with his grandchildren and taking care of their cat and ducks. Surviving in addition to his wife are 2 Daughters - Andrea L. wife of Brian R. Devlin, Exeter Twp., Theresa A. wife of Nathan A. McCulley, Leesport, his 2 step-daughters - Jessica M. wife of Michael Parker, Dover, DE, Candace L. wife of Jonn Hollenbach, Shillington, his sister - Dolores M. wife of James P. Latch, Oley, his 4 grandchildren - Connor, Cole & Colin Devlin, Jayla McCulley, his 4 step-grandchildren - Jade & Hunter Ho, Cheyanne & Cara Parker and his niece and nephew - Jennifer & Jeffrey Latch.
