Vasilios “Billy” Papadopoulos, 64, of Lincoln Park, passed away June 4, 2025 in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest with his loving family by his side.
Born in Papparousi, Evritania, Greece, he was a son of the late Michael & Agoritsa (Kalivas) Papadopoulos. He was the loving husband of Athanassia (Roumbos) Papadopoulos. They celebrated 32 years of marriage.
Billy came to the United States when he was young boy with his family and they settled in NYC, where he spent most of his life prior to moving to Pennsylvania in 2012. Billy was a cook his entire life starting at the Tick Tock Diner in Manhattan, NY and lastly at the DeLuxe Restaurant, Shillington retiring November 2023.
He was a member of Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church.
In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children – Agoristsa “Rita” Papadopoulos and Michael Papadopoulos, both of Reading, along with his pride and joy, his granddaughter Penelope Rivas. In addition, he is survived by – Demetra Anastasis, Athanasios “Tommy” Papadopoulos, Demosthenis “Danny” Papadopoulos, and Kimon Papadopoulos.
Billy was a huge fan of the New York Mets and New York Rangers and he had a huge love for old muscle cars. He enjoyed the outdoors, and playing outside his home with his granddaughter. His most cherished title was Pappou.
Viewing from Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Ave., Shillington, on Monday, June 9, 2025 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM with Trisagion service at 7:30 PM. Additional viewing on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 8:30-9:30 AM at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 1001 E. Wyomissing Blvd., Reading, PA 19611 followed by his funeral service beginning at 9:30 AM with Fr. Theodore Petrides (Proistamenos) presiding.
