William E. Veit, Jr.

        William E. Veit, Jr., 82, of Wyomissing Hills, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Country Meadows, where he had resided for the past few months.  Born in Hatboro, PA, Bill was the only child of the late Beatrice (Baker) and William E. Veit, Sr.

        Bill graduated from Upper Moreland High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in metallurgical engineering from the former Drexel Institute of Technology (now Drexel University).

        He enjoyed a very long and successful career with the Exide Company, retiring as manager of the Exide Research and Development Center in Laureldale, PA.

        Bill was a lifelong NASCAR fan, and enjoyed participating in road rallies as a driver and also a navigator.  He also loved long rides on his BMW motorcycle, was an avid train collector and a proud member of the NRA.

        His survivors include his closest friends, Ruthann and Ed Bergstresser, and Cliff and Debbie Hirneisen.
