Alan K. Hattendorf, 77, of South Heidelberg Twp., formerly of Shillington, passed away March 10, 2022, at 7:42 AM in his residence.
He was the husband of the late Carol J. (Moehling) Hattendorf who passed away December 19, 2016. They celebrated 51 years of marriage prior to her passing. Born in Elgin, Illinois, he was a son of the late Alvin C. and Elveria S. (Pohlman) Hattendorf.
Al was a Field Installation Supervisor in the corrugated industry, working for S & S, Brooklyn, NY and Interstate Container, Reading. He later worked as a limo driver for Lifestyle Limousine, retiring in 2005.
Al served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. John’s Reformed Church, Sinking Spring, Teutonia Lodge No. 367 F&AM, and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon – Neversink Forest, where he served as Past Grand Tall (Twice). He loved his church and his grandchildren.
His is survived by his children – Rhonda L. Hattendorf, Flying Hills, Rachel J. wife of Ted Mountz, Bern Twp., Joseph A. Hattendorf, Katonah, NY, his daughter-in-law Stacey Hattendorf, Spring Twp., his siblings – Diane wife of Richard Rogala, Warren Hattendorf, Marvin Hattendorf, Terry husband of Donna Hattendorf, all of Illinois, and his grandchildren – Hunter, Tanner, Conner, Christian, Aiden, Spencer, Sydney, and Rebecca. He was predeceased by his son Benjamin Alan Hattendorf on April 17, 2015, and his brother Ronald Hattendorf and his wife Catherine.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at 11:00 AM from St. John’s Reformed Church, 4001 Penn Ave., Sinking Spring, PA 19608. Rev Jim Bertoti and Rev. Susan Weisman will officiate. Interment with military honors in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring. Viewing on Monday, March 14, 2022, from 6-8 PM at the Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Ave., Shillington. Masonic service by Teutonia Lodge No. 367 F&AM at 7:45 PM.
