Elma S. Koskoski, 87, formerly of Pine Street, Shillington, passed away May 9, 2021 at 3:01 AM in the Highlands at Wyomissing where she resided since October 2013.
She was the wife of the late Michael J. Koskoski, who passed away May 12, 2017. They were together 32 years and married 17 years prior to his passing. Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Raymond W. and Emma L. (Flessner) Stoudt.
Elma was a bookkeeper for Gross Custom Kitchens and other local businesses. She was a member of Advent Lutheran Church, West lawn and enjoyed playing in the Highlands Bell Choir and crocheting in the Highlands knitting club. She loved a good cup of tea with honey and witty conversation. At her home in Shillington, she could be found in the garden growing her own herbs. She dried the herbs and created seasonings for cooking up fresh produce from local farm markets. During her life she travelled the world including China and Europe. Elma loved all types of art, especially painting and she attended every fine art fair, and craft show in the area. She was particularly fond of Pennsylvania Dutch art and traditions as well as the local Amish culture. In her younger days she loved to hike the Appalachian Trail and spent weekends at the shore where she water skied and cooked up fresh caught crabs and clams. She was valedictorian of North Coventry H.S., class of 1951.
She is survived by her daughters – Diane G. Stevenson, Topton, Merry E. Keller, St. Louis, MO, Lori C. Keller, Topton, her sister – Dorothy Maloney, Harrisburg, her brother – James husband of Joyce Stoudt, Birdsboro, her 4 grandchildren – David, Michael, Tacha, Tyson and her 12 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she is predeceased by a daughter – Cynthia J. Dobie in 2015 and siblings – Mary Knauer and Norville Stoudt.
