Francis W. Crupi, 85, of Cumru Township, passed away April 6, 2018 at 12:20 PM in the Reading Hospital where he was a patient since March 26th. He was the husband of Joanne G. (Fioravanti) Crupi. They celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on February 20th. Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late Joseph & Gemma (Rosato) Crupi. He joined the Merchant Marines in 1949 and in 1952 joined the US Navy, serving until 1956. After returning from Korea, he started with Firestone Tire & Rubber working in the warehouse and as a union representative. He later worked for and become owner of the Paint Pot on Lancaster Ave., retiring in 1998. He continued to assist the current owner, his son Brian, for many years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Gouglersville and was a member of the Spartico Club, Reading. He played softball for Gouglersville Fire Co. from the late 1950’s to 1971. He like to golf, play cards, especially pinochle, and enjoyed athletic events. Francis was a cancer survivor for more than 50 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons – Kevin M. husband of LuAnne Crupi, Negaunee, MI, Brian K. Crupi, Kenhorst, his sister – Virginia wife of Bob Hanley, Muhlenberg Twp., his grandchildren – Craig J. Crupi & Samantha R. Crupi, both of Shillington, his brother-in-law – Ronald husband of Connie Fioravanti, Spring Twp., his mother-in-law – Marie Fioravanti, Gouglersville and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and Friends are invited to call on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 10:30-11:30 AM followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:30 AM in Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 1 E. Lancaster Ave., Shillington. Pastor Debora Gifford will officiate. Interment with military honors in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville at 2:00 PM. Those wishing to remember Frank in a special way may contribute in his memory to the Lebanon VA Medical Center, 1700 South Lincoln Ave., Lebanon, PA 18042.
