Geraldine S. Rautzhan

Geraldine S. Rautzhan, 76, of Cumru Township, passed away peacefully June 24, 2022, at 6:10 AM at the Topton Lutheran Home, where she was compassionately cared for since June 16th.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late August & Josephine (Cirulli) Stunz. She was the wife of Marlin L. Rautzhan, who passed away January 2, 2018. They celebrated 48 wonderful years of marriage prior to his passing. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Caroline.

She gained lifelong friends through her work at Shillington Savings & Loan, Maier’s Bakery, M.J. Reider, and Nature’s Garden, last working in May. Gere was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle R.C. Church, Shillington.

She is survived by her sons – Michael husband of Jennifer (Rohrbach) Rautzhan, Oley, Peter husband of Elissa (Bellairs) Rautzhan, Macungie, her sisters – Wilhelmina wife of Ivan Jeffery, FL, Henrietta S. wife of Ronald C. Dunkelberger, Sr., Shillington.  Her most cherished role was MeeMaw to her grandchildren – Olivia, John (Jack), Luke, and Peyton, supporting them as their biggest fan in all their activities.  She loved her grand dogs – Leo and Georgia.  Gere had a welcoming and caring spirit, finding joy gardening in her yard, spending time with friends and family, attending her exercise classes, and trips to the beach.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. John Baptist De la Salle R.C. Church, 42 Kerrick Road, Shillington. Rev. Edward J. Essig, M. Div. celebrant. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 9:00 – 10:00 AM at the church. Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, will be private.
