Harold Trostle, 97, of Gouglersville, passed away December 27, 2021, at the Reading Hospital where he was a patient.
Born in Grill, PA, he was a son of the late Paul E. & Mamie E. (Remp) Trostle. He was the loving husband of Marian C. (Henke) Trostle who passed away October 23, 2019. They celebrated 66 years of marriage prior to her passing.
He was a former member of Wyomissing U.C.C., Gouglersville, was a member of Reinholds VFW Post 6759, and served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II. Harold served on the board of Wyomissing Cemetery for over 50 years, serving as their President and most recently as caretaker / superintendent. You could find Harold most mornings in the cemetery office. He enjoyed football, Nascar, Hippie’s ring bologna, bull riding, spending time with his family, and most importantly his favorite thing was riding the lawn mower.
He is survived by his sons – David L. husband of Margaret Trostle, Boyertown, Thomas H. Husband of Suzette Trostle, Temple, his grandchildren – Michael Trostle, Matthew Trostle, Katherine Trostle, Jessica Trostle, his great granddaughter – Kiley Trostle, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters – Fern R. Zieber and Ida R. Klaassen and his infant brother – Charlie Trostle.
