Lee T. Ahrens, 83, of Exeter Township, passed away April 19, 2021 in the Reading Hospital where he was a Covid patient since early March.
He was the husband of Carolyn (Schmehl) Ahrens. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in September. Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late Howard N. and Edith (Taylor) Ahrens.
Lee was a design engineer at Specialty Design & Manufacturing Co., Inc. for the last 43 years, was a 1955 graduate of Mt. Penn High School and attended Penn State University. He served as an auxiliary policeman for Exeter Twp., and was a member of the ASPCA and his pride and joy, the Antique Automobile Club of America.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters – Michele A. Sholl, Exeter Twp., Marsha A. wife of Robert Turner, Plymouth Meeting, PA, his siblings – Lynne A. wife of Lynn Sarig, Exeter Twp., Larry H. husband of Jane Ahrens, St. Lawrence, and his grandchildren – Zachary Sholl, Marisa Sholl, Abigail Turner and Caitlin Turner.
