Obituary

Louis H. Getty, II, 88, of Exeter Township, passed away March 24, 2021 at 8:00 PM in his residence with his loving family by his side.

He was the husband of Adelaide M. “Mickey” (McMonagle) Getty. They would have been married 59 years in July. Born in Schenectady, NY, he was son of the late Louis H. and Irene (Mochon) Getty.

He was an army veteran of the Korean War. He worked for IBM as a transportation manager, working for over 40 years before retiring. Louis was proud of his service to his country, loved his family, and was a member of Christ Episcopal Church Reading.

Surviving in addition to his wife are his children – Virginia M. wife of Leo O’Reilly, Burlington, VT, Louis H. Getty, III, Exeter Twp., Kathleen M> wife of Ralph Serpa, Mt. Penn, Patricia M. Bailey, Haslet, TX, his grandchildren – Mallory Cheever, Leo O’Reilly, Kaitlyn Serpa, Kobe Serpa, Rachel Bailey, Reese Bailey, his great grandson – Calvin Cheever and his brother – David husband of Maryellen Getty, TX.

A private Celebration of Louis’ Life will be held at Christ Episcopal Church, Reading. The Rev. Canon John R. Francis will officiate. In lieu of flowers, please remember Louis by making contribution to Compassus Hospice, 1001 James Dr., Suite B34, Leesport, PA 19533.
