Mary Ellen (Haas) Clemens, 80, of Mohnton, passed away December 26, 2021, in her Mohnton home with her loving family by her side.
Born at her family home in Cedar Top, she was a daughter of the late Melvin R. & Martha (Tobias) Haas. She was the loving wife of David R. Clemens with whom she shared 61 years of marriage.
Mary Ellen was a 1959 graduate of Governor Mifflin High School. In her early years, she worked as a beautician. After starting her family, she became very involved in her community. She enjoyed her many years in the former Mohnton’s Women’s Club, serving as a past president. Her love of community showed in all her volunteer work within Mohnton, Mohnton Playground Committee, Mohnton Halloween Parade and more.
Mary Ellen also had a love of crafts, which led her to open a craft shop in Mohnton. After retiring, she spent most of her days with her true passion – her gardening! She loved being in her yard and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by a long list of loved ones – her husband David, her children – David M. Clemens husband of Lauren Baird-Clemens, Sherri L. wife of Phillip Kaminski, Kimberly A. Fredericks-Clemens wife of Nathan Fredericks, all of Shillington, her grandchildren – Heather L. (Gantert) wife of Kasey Winslow, Rachel L. Gantert, Amber L. Gantert, Madison S. Clemens, Tanner L. Renninger, David J. Clemens, Serenity D. Clemens, Charley M. Fredericks-Clemens, her great grandchildren – Kylan C. Winslow, Arabella R. Krick, Hailey M. Winslow, Julian J. Matos, Asher J. Mohn, her siblings – Maralyn wife of Librado Mancias, II. Mohnton, Gloria wife of Thomas Cobb, Tulsa, OK, Melvin husband of Suzanne (Wentzel) Haas, St. Lawrence, Perry husband of Susan (Englehart) Haas, Flying Hills, Kathleen wife of Leslie Isett, Lopez, PA, Christine wife of Joseph Simmons, Colony Park, and Cindy wife of Philip Gipprich, Glouglersville.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister Nancy Haas.
Funeral procession will depart promptly at 8:30 AM on Friday, December 31, 2021, from Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Ave., Shillington. Graveside services at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA beginning at 10:00 AM. Pastor David Duquette officiating.
