Michael P. Okonski, 55, of Muhlenberg Township, passed away June 27, 2022, at 3:30 PM in the Reading Hospital.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Stanley R. Okonski, Jr. and Elaine M. (Scherbanik) Okonski.
Mike was a toll collector at the Reading Interchange of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission for 35 years, retiring Feb. 6, 2021. He was raised Catholic and Graduated in 1985 from Reading High School.
Mike was an avid Dallas Cowboys and Penn State fan, who enjoyed spending time with family, boating, golfing, fishing, listening to Polka Time, as well as time with his dog Chubbers.
Mike is survived by his brother – Chris W. Okonski, West Reading, his nephew – Dylan S. Okonski, his niece – Taylor J. Okonski, his sister-in-law – Tracy L. Okonski, Muhlenberg Twp., his uncle – William J. husband of Jean Okonski, Cumru Twp., his aunt – Linda A. wife of John Ruth, Robesonia, and his uncle – Ted Jamula, of Reading.
Viewing from Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Ave., Shillington on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, from 9:00-11:00 AM followed by his funeral service at 11:00 AM. The Rev. E. Michael Camilli will officiate. Entombment in the Chapel of St. George at Gethsemane Cemetery will be private.
