Ralph Maio, Jr., 84, of Denver, PA, formerly of Exeter Twp., passed away June 9, 2022, in the Reading hospital where he was a patient.
Born in Rome, NY, he was a son of the late Ralph and Irene (Vescio) Maio. He was the husband of Sandra K. (Armstrong) Maio. They were married in 1961 at Transfiguration Church in Rome, NY. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage.
Ralph served in the New York National Guard and graduated from Mohawk Valley Community College with a degree in Metallurgy. He began his career at Revere Copper & Brass in Rome, NY and moved on to Revere’s Clinton Division in Clinton, IL. He retired from George Snyder Contractors in Reading, PA in 2000.
Ralph was a member of the Church of St. Benedict and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf.
In addition to his wife Sandra, he is survived by his sons – Ralph C. (Dina) Maio of Morgantown, Michael J. (Stephanie) Maio of King of Prussia, his grandsons – Ralph A. “RJ” Maio, Christopher M. Maio, and his siblings – Catherine Schebel of Calabash, NC, Johanna Capponi, Lucille (Dennis) Delaney, Peter (Rosemary) Maio, all of Rome, NY., and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his granddaughter Angelina Maio.
Visitation from the Church of St. Benedict, 2020 Chestnut Hill Road, Mohnton, PA 19540, on Friday, June 24, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM followed by his Mass of Christian burial at 11:00 AM. The Rev. Edward J. Essig, M. Div. celebrant. Private interment in St. John’s Cemetery, Rome, NY. In lieu of flowers, please remember Ralph by contributing to his church at the above address. Sandy, I am so sorry for your loss. We have lots of memories of him that will get us through the darkest days. Love him and Tony together at dinner eating clams and pizza. Selling together at the church Christmas Bazaar and many more good times. He will always be in my prayers.
