Ronald J. Woessner, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away February 16, 2021 at the age of 74.
Ron was born October 19, 1946 in Philadelphia to Erwin G. and Regina “Jean” M. (Hoffecker) Woessner. Ron grew up in Shillington along with his older brother Erwin G. Woessner, Wyomissing and younger sister Emily wife of Yasser Morad, Shillington. He attended Governor Mifflin High School, graduating in 1964, where he met the love of his life, Susan L. Keffer. Ron and Susie got married and had four children – Sherry A. wife of Kevin E. Epler, Wernersville, Lori S. Gray, Indiana, Tracy L. Woessner, Las Vegas, NV, and Troy J. husband of Lisa Woessner, Sinking Spring. On July 31, 2021, they would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary.
After high school, Ron served 6 years in the U.S. Navy, during the Vietnam War, spending most of his time on submarines serving on the USS James Monroe SSBN 622. Once his time in the Navy came to a close, Ron spent the rest of his career in the telecommunications field before retiring in 2016. He worked as business telephone installer for AT&T for 30 years and later for 15 years with Berks Western Telecom
Ron loved spending time with his five grandchildren – Dylan & Taylor Epler, Hannah & Sarah Snyder, and Josh Woessner. He also loved taking trips to Long Beach Island, NJ in the summers and going fishing. Ron was an active member of Lincoln Park United Methodist Church and enjoyed helping out the church and its community in any way he could.
Ronald will be deeply missed and will live on in the hearts of all those whose lives he touched.
Funeral services from Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Ave., Shillington on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 10:30 AM. Rev. Dr. Christopher Kurien will officiate. Interment with military honors at 12:30 PM at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Viewing on Thursday, February 25, 2021 from 6:00-8:30 PM.
