Theresa A. “Terri” Lessig, 92, of Reading, passed away, June 12, 2022, at 6:00 PM in her residence.
Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late John & Sophia (Zajac) Kopala. She was the wife of the late Edward J. Lessig, who passed away October 8, 1974.
Terri worked as a packer at Baldwin Hardware. She was a member of St. John Baptist de LaSalle R.C. Church, Shillington, and a member of the former St. Anthony of Padua R. C. Church, Millmont. A 1948 graduate of Reading High School, she loved to bake and cook. After retirement, she volunteered in the classroom at the elementary school and crocheting many afghans for the elderly and newborns.
She is survived by her children – Denise M. Lessig, Reading, Edward M. Lessig, Reading, Matthew P. Lessig, Reading, her sister – Anna Kopala, Reading, her grandson – Robert Lessig, her great grandson – Chase Lessig, and several nieces & nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her son – John P. Lessig, and her siblings – Mary Kopala, Angela Kurpiewski, Bernice Kopala, Peter Kopala, and Stanley Kopala.
A private Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by Rev. Edward J. Essig, M. Div., at St John Baptist de LaSalle R.C. Church. Entombment in the Chapel of St. George at Gethsemane Cemetery.
