Obituary

Anna M. Riegel, 89, of Shillington, passed away February 2, 2018 at 10:50 PM in Manor Care Health Services, Sinking Spring, where she was a guest. She was the wife of the late Franklin A. Riegel, Jr., who passed away October 8, 1989. They were married for 49 years prior to his passing. Born in Shillington, she was a daughter of the late Arthur R. and Julia (Sweitzer) Kring. Anna started her career as a seamstress at the former Fairy Silk Mill, then at John Conrad Groceries on Miller St. in Shillington, as a consultant for Avon, a seamstress for Dolphin Corp., at the Kiddie Shop, later Doneckers Young World in Shillington and finally as a salesperson for the former Cotton Mill on Lancaster Ave., in Shillington. Anna was a member of Immanuel UCC, Shillington and a 1947 graduate of the former Shillington High School. She enjoyed old movies, especially Westerns, building miniature doll house furniture, crocheting, painting and needlepoint. She is survived by her loving children – Kenneth L. Riegel, Shillington, Diane L. wife of Robert D. Ruth, Jr., Sinking Spring, her sister – Alice M. Fisher, Mifflin Court, and her granddaughters – Kristin E. and Becky L. Ruth. Funeral services from Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., One East Lancaster Ave., Shillington on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Pastor Rich Moore officiating. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Shillington. Viewing on Friday from 10-11 AM at the funeral home.
