Betty E. Simmon, 94, formerly of Reading, passed away January 20, 2021 at Manor Care Health Services, Sinking Spring, where she was a guest since August 2019.

Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late William F. & Katie R. (Rhoads) Goodhart.

Betty worked for the former Letisse Handbags, Reading and at the former Pomeroy’s in their 6th floor “Toyland”. Her favorite “occupation” was raising her 4 children. She was a 1944 graduate of Reading High School and a former girl scout leader. She loved the Pittsburgh Steelers, animals in general; especially her dogs, and working in her yard with her rose bushes.

She is survived by her daughters – Karen J. wife of Harry Boud, Okeechobee, FL, Judi A. Simmon wife of Michael Kroenig, Shillington, Lori B. Paduano, Greensboro, NC, her sister – Jacqueline A. Moyer, Sinking Spring, her 6 grandchildren and her 10 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her daughter Sandra L. Simmons and her siblings – Mae Frank, Paul, Warren, and Bill Goodhart.

Services will be private with interment in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Exeter Twp. Please remember Betty by making a contribution to the Animal Rescue League, 58 Kennel Drive, Birdsboro, PA 19508. The Klee Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., Shillington is assisting the Simmon family.
