Gloria Lorraine Drexel, 88, of Shillington, passed away April 5, 2021 at Berks Heim. She resided at the Heritage of Green Hills for the past 6 years and the last year at Green Hills Manor.
She was the wife of the late Richard W. Drexel who passed away January 26, 2021. They shared 68 years of marriage. Born in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Robert T. Cooper, Jr., and Lillian (Wanner) Cooper.
She attended Farview Elementary School, Kenhorst, graduated from Shillington High School in 1951. Gloria worked at Woolworth’s 5 & 10 Cent Store during her high school years and after high school graduation she worked at American Casualty Insurance Company, Reading. On June 29, 1952 she married her husband at Windsor St. Methodist Church, officiated by her uncle, Rev. Kenneth Cooper. She molded many young girls lives being a Camp Fire Leader from 1960-1975, helped organize Shillington High School Class reunions and was a member of Immanuel U.C.C.
She is survived by her daughters – Cherri, wife of Chuck Dippenworth, Janel, wife of John Hoffert, Michelle, wife of Kevin Redcay, her grandchildren – Sarah (Dippenworth) Kyte, Karen (Dippenworth) Frostbutter, Mickenzie (Dippenworth) Hyson, Austin, Blayne & Aubrey Hoffert, Kerryn & Kellen Redcay, and her great grandchildren – Nathan & Ben Kyte and Colin Frostbutter.
