Joan E. Reedy, 89, of Lincoln Park, passed away June 30, 2021.
Born in Reading, Joan was a daughter of the late Wilson M. “Wit” and Irene G. (Burkhardt) Noll who owned Noll’s Bike Ship at 10th & Oley Streets, Reading. She was the wife of the late Henry George Reedy, II, who passed away April 20, 1994, after almost 40 years of marriage.
She worked at Ciotti’s Bakery at the original Shillington Farmers Market. Joan was a 1949 graduate of Reading High School and was a member and served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. John Baptist de LaSalle R. C. Church, Shillington. She was the women’s club trip coordinator at St. Ignatius Loyola R. C. Church, Whitfield for many years. Joan was a professional dancer with Holiday Dancers, dancing in A Chorus Line and Atlantic City just to name a few. Her dancing landed her picture on a Billboard in Reading. Joan had modeled for the former Marilyn Shop and the former Clothes Tree and worked as a stewardess for Allied Chemical.
She is survived by her children – Patricia I. Sustello of Muhlenberg Twp., Terri A. wife of Rocky Hartzell of Sinking Spring, Michael J. husband of Sandra Reedy, Spring Twp., Sandra L. Reedy, with whom she last resided, 9 grandchildren – Galen, David, Hank, Josh, Michael, Brittany, Kayla, Chris, Emily and 14 great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by a son – Henry G. “Hap” Reedy, III, 2002 and her brother William Noll.
