Pat was best friends at Sears with my division manager Pam/Cosmetics/Health&Beauty in the 1970s, and they'd join up together for breaks at the counter, so I got to know Pat well too. She had such a resonant, alto speaking voice - much like Tony Bennett's which has been described as "suede", which served her well being a live/in-person public address announcer back then. Once back then, navy blue-&-kelly green was the "in" color combination. Pat wore it that day & I complimented her not only on her style but her forward fashion thinking, putting it together. She replied that scolding fashion rules from the generations prior went, "Blue and green should not be seen!" We both laughed; I never forgot that moment; and how Life's pendulum swings. She was such a steady, solid, pleasant soul. Surely she rests in God's peace.
